Oh wow! I didn’t even realize the July VeganCuts beauty boxes had shipped out yet, never mind that they were already starting to arrive into your hands! So exciting! :bounce:
If you’re visiting this site thanks to VeganCuts, hello!! *smiles and waves* So nice to meet you =-) But even if you’ve been here before, or if you are visiting for any other reason, I’d love to extend a warm welcome to all with a lil’ giftie…
Just the Goods handmade skin care products are always priced at the lowest rates possible, so they never go on sale, but I’d love to celebrate my collaboration with VeganCuts by offering a coupon.
Enter vegancuts0714 at checkout to receive $5.00 off any purchase of products totaling $50.00 or more before shipping! The coupon will be available until August 15, 2014 and it may be used once per person =-) It can be used at this website only, not on Etsy. Thanks for your understanding =-)
Thanks again for visiting! And thanks to @Jess_Giglio and @VeggieTart for sharing their enthusiasm and pics on Twitter! xo!
Hi everyone! Please note that Just the Goods will be closed July 1 – 9 for paperwork and inventory. Orders placed on or before June 30 will be mailed on or before July 3. Orders received between July 1 – 9 will be handmade and mailed beginning on July 10.
Also, if you’d like to participate in group shipping to Montreal or Toronto, please note that the deadline this month is the same — June 30. Thank you so much!

I hope you’re enjoying the most of the season in whatever way you like best =-)
I’m getting in touch today — as I like to do three or four times a year — to say hello and provide the latest news from Just the Goods. My last newsletter noted a number of recent accomplishments, and in this one I’d like to mention what feels like the largest yet… Just the Goods celebrated 5 years of making and sharing this past May!
I know I write this often, but I honestly and truly can’t believe how much JTG has flourished from a kernel of an idea to a part-time project to something that is on its way to becoming “all growed up”. I have many ideas yet to explore, and with that are many new challenges, but this is all very exciting and I want to thank you for finding Just the Goods and growing with me.
On a related note, some more — and very big — “all growed up” news: Just the Goods has been accepted for inclusion in the next Vegan Cuts beauty box. Yes, JTG is all about prioritizing self-care rather than “beauty”, but if there was ever a beauty thing that felt good, it’s this because Vegan Cuts’ subscription box is a fun way for both new and long-time vegans to discover a wide range of items that make kinder living even easier to embrace =-) I’ve been keen to participate for several months, and now the time is here! To learn more about Vegan Cuts, including how to subscribe to these fabulous treasure chests, please visit http://bit.ly/VeganCutsBeauty Whooooo!!!
New Shipping Calculator…
If you’ve visited http://www.justthegoods.net these past few weeks, you might have noticed that it looks quite different. This is because I’ve taken steps to ensure that the ideal shipping calculator works correctly, and I’m happy to say that it finally does!! At long last, I have the Canada Post plugin that carefully estimates the cubic weight of a parcel and offers clients the opportunity to choose their preferred shipping method for any destination worldwide. This will not only generate more accurate rates, but take the guesswork out of how a parcel will travel, too! Please feel free to check it out, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask =-)
Group shipping now available to Montreal *AND* Toronto
When the idea of regional group shipping to Montreal was launched, it was only a matter of days before Torontonians were able to get in on the action, too! Thanks to two fabulous regional coordinators, Rebecca and MeShell, anyone in either city is invited to have their order shipped to a central location allowing pick ups in person.
To take advantage of this opportunity, place your order at http://www.justthegoods.net as you would normally, then enter the coupon code “montreal” or “toronto” to have your order sent as part of one big box to save money and reduce your carbon footprint. Shipping costs will be divided between the number of people participating that month and a regional distribution coordinator will be in touch by email to schedule a pickup date and time with you.
The deadline to be included in the next round of orders is Monday, June 30. For more information, please visit: http://shop.justthegoods.net/?page_id=3704.
PS. Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to coordinate group shipping to your city!
Meet the Maker
When I visited Toronto in January, I had the opportunity to connect with Marsha and Ian of GoodRoots.ca, a fabulous retail website that makes it easier to choose safe cosmetics through rigorous standards, clear classification symbols, and an educational component hosted on their companion website, GoodReport.tv. As part of my visit, we shot a video that is the third in their series called, Meet the Maker, and in it I discuss some of the things that motivate Just the Goods. If you’ve ever been curious to know more about what I do and why, here’s your chance to find out =-)

Upcoming Temporary Lab Closure
Please note that the lab will be closed July 1 – 9 so I can catch up on paperwork and inventory. Orders placed on or before June 30 will be mailed on or before July 3. Orders received between July 1 – 9 will be handmade and mailed beginning on July 10.
I might take a few days away from production at the beginning of September if possible but, apart from that, the lab will remain open until late December =-). Please feel free to follow me on Facebook or Twitter for updates. Thank you!

As always, thank you for your ongoing support! It is an absolute pleasure to handcraft natural skin and body care products, providing a healthier, small-scale alternative to the corporate “beauty industry”. I wouldn’t be able to do it without you!

After almost two years of technical trouble-shooting on my end, I’m delighted to announce a partnership between Canada Post and WooCommerce that has completely transformed this website…
Just the Goods now has a shipping calculator that will give US and other international customers more accurate rates for a wide range of shipping options, whoo hoo!! There is a small chance that errors/typos in the product database might lead to accidental overcharges — and I will always fix these as soon as they are discovered — but with respect to possible accidental overcharges, I will always refund the difference on the day the parcel is ready to ship.
Customers within Canada will continue to be charged a flat rate for shipping so I can access deeply discounted bulk shipping rates via PayPal. This means that while shipping will never exceed $15.00 for any order within Canada, rates may actually be as low as $8.00 within Manitoba, $11.00 to Quebec, or $14.00 to the Maritime provinces. Shipping rates vary based on the weight of your order versus distance and population density, but please be assured that any difference in your favour will always be refunded =-)
If you would like to confirm the cost of shipping for your order before completing your transaction, please get in touch by email: firstname.lastname@example.org — I’m always happy to help!
Thank you so much and all bests!
Just the Goods is all about embracing self-care rather than “beauty”, but if there was ever a beauty thing that felt good, it’s this one… Vegan Cuts’ subscription box is an awesome opportunity for new and long-time vegans alike because it’s a super fun way to discover a wide range of products that you might not even know existed =-)
I’ve been keen to get involved for several months, and now the time is here… Just the Goods is going to be part of the box shipping out in July, and I couldn’t be more excited!!

Look what I just found! I had no idea it was already posted… the Meet the Maker video produced by Good Report TV for Good Roots!! I think it went okay… did it? Great editing, in that case Thanks Marsha and Ian! =-)
When I started handcrafting skin care formulas for personal use, I didn’t imagine for one moment that I would begin sharing my work with others two years later, let alone transform an interest into a full-time occupation only a few years after that. But time flies and, to my honest amazement, Just the Goods is now 5 years old and thriving with deepest thanks to you!
Just the Goods is committed to making healthier skin, body, and hair care options as affordable as possible and therefore offers a wide range of products at the lowest possible public wholesale price every single day. As a result, Just the Goods products never go on sale. However, I’m eager to thank you for 5 exciting years, and I want to celebrate with Just the Goods’ very first sale… a shipping sale, which will last for 5 days only.
>>> In Canada: All orders over $50.00 will ship for only $5.00! Enter coupon code “birthdaycanada” at checkout
>>> Everywhere else: Get $5.00 off all orders over $50.00. Enter coupon code “birthday” at checkout
This shipping sale begins on May 1, 2014 and continues until midnight on May 5, 2014. This sale applies only to purchases made at this time and is not transferable to past or future purchases. This sale is also limited to purchases made at http://www.justthegoods.net and applies only to purchases using the coupon code at the time of purchase. I’m sure there are a whole bunch of other limitations that I should assert right now, but let’s just say that I’m reasonable and I trust that others are as well, so I’ll exercise my best judgement on a case by case basis for any unexpected scenarios that might arise ;-)
With that, I’d just like to say thank you one more time — I’m overwhelmed by the many messages I receive from people informing me that Just the Goods has improved their quality of life, and I’d like to share how grateful I am that my quality of life has likewise improved. I’m honoured to continue developing and handmaking Just the Goods, and I’m eager to do so for years and years to come!
I hope you’re having a beautiful Earth Day by enjoying the great outdoors and thinking of new ways reduce your environmental impact in all that you do =-)
I started the day earlier than usual thanks to the fabulous crew at Breakfast Television Winnipeg, who kindly invited me to make a detox face mask with co-host Courtney Ketchen as a preview for the DIY spa facial workshop that will take place at Generation Green at the Forks on Thursday, April 24. It was so much fun and, just as Courtney said, who knew that taking time for yourself could be eco-friendly? Indeed, choosing healthier ingredients isn’t only great for your body, but for the soil and water, too =-) Check out the complete segment right here =-)
A few hours later, I received the flowers I ordered from Oak + Lily to dress up the new product photos I’m taking for Just the Goods, now that I have a proper lighting kit <=-) I almost melted looking at these gems! Hyacinths! You smell so good!! Why you be poisonous? I wanna eat choooo!!
And, as if this day wasn’t already *amazing*, Emily von Euw, the spirited creative force behind This Rawesome Vegan Life, posted her review of a few Just the Goods items on April 22, 2014 and she had so many lovely things to say. Thank you!! I’m still blushin’ =-) Check it out here!
On that note, if you haven’t checked out her new raw recipe book yet, you really should… here’s a link to share the love!
Join me @ Generation Green at The Forks on Thursday April 24 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. for a lil’ workshop designed to help you determine your facial skin type and learn how to make spa quality clay facial masks at home for self-care and relaxation.
