Hi everyone!! I’m writing to share dates that might be of interest concerning future orders/events in December/January. It’s a lot of info with some overlapping elements, so hopefully it makes sense ;-)
– Orders placed before December 20 will be mailed on/before December 23
– I will be at at the W.E.S.T. | Winnipeg Etsy Street Team + Winnipeg Makers Market Holiday Pop-Up Shop on December 21 — see you there!! If you would like to pre-order for pick up at the sale, please do so via http://www.justthegoods.net before the end of the day on December 18. Thanks!! =-)
– Orders received December 21 – 22 will be mailed on December 23 *if* the requested items are already in stock. Since I’ll be at a craft show on the 21st and packing orders for mailing on the 22nd, I won’t be able to make anything new until January. Sorry!!
– I will be away from the lab December 23 – January 6. Orders received during this time will be handmade beginning January 7 and mailed as quickly as possible thereafter. But, if I happen to already have requested items in stock, I’ll try to mail them during this time — I just won’t be making anything new <=-)
– I will be in Montreal and Toronto on exciting Just the Goods related business from January 15 – 22. Orders received before January 13 will be mailed on/before January 14. Orders received January 13 – 22 will be handmade beginning January 23 and mailed as quickly as possible thereafter. Thanks!
– If you live in Quebec or Ontario, I’d be happy to mail your orders from Montreal or Toronto to help you save money on shipping. Please place your order before January 10 so I can make the necessary arrangements =-)

Again, I realize this a lot of info, so I apologize if it’s a bit confusing <=-) I’m trying to make sure I can serve as many people as possible before taking some time out of the lab for desperately needed book-keeping, and later to work on some exciting new developments =-)
With that said, I’ll be sure to post reminders… I just want to give you this head’s up =-)
Thanks again!!! I’m so thrilled that Just the Goods is what I get to do every day. Truly… thank you <3
Since I’m always trying to make everything better all the time, I’ve just installed a new shipping calculator that recognizes the weight of each item, and their many possible variations. Of the 140+ items available at http://www.justthegoods.net/, I’m almost certain I’ve caught everything… fingers crossed! If you spot anything unusual, please let me know.
In the meantime, I hope this long awaited update helps clients in the US and other parts of the world enjoy a more satisfying Just the Goods experience =-) Never again will you find a charge of $32.00 simply because you selected items from four different shipping classes ;-)
Now it’s time for me to switch off my computer nerd brain and turn on my lab nerd brain ;-) *tee hee* See you at Winnipeg Makers Market tomorrow from 5:00 – 9:30 p.m.!
WHOO HOOO!!! Just the Goods is now Leaping Bunny certified!!!
I wish it didn’t take me so long to get all of the paperwork in order, but that was a result of juggling Just the Goods with another parallel career for so many years. However, now that JTG is my full-time occupation — with deepest thanks to all of you!!!! — I was able to complete all the steps necessary to finalize my application. I’m so excited!!!
For more information about this fantastic program that cares about animals and people with integrity and respect, please visit http://www.leapingbunny.org/ =-)
Now to work on the paperwork for permission to use the logo =-)
Today is really turning out to be a very exciting day for Just the Goods! Inspiring raw vegan chef, Susan Powers of Rawmazing, has just posted news of a giveaway we’re hosting on her site, which I truly encourage you to visit: http://www.rawmazing.com/just-the-goods-giveaway.
I discovered Rawmazing for the first time almost two years ago and it is now my go-to destination for healthy and delicious food ideas that are so fun to make and share =-) I trust that anyone looking for creative ways to invigorate their health through good food will find everything they need to make and sustain change at Rawmazing.com =-)

Thank you, Susan! ♥
The giveaway is easy to enter and runs until November 28, so you have two days to get involved for your chance to win!
Just the Goods has a great big crush on flora & farmer so you can imagine just how happy I was when we decided to work together to offer a yummy (and kinda funny) gift set! Just the Goods vegan whipped body butter is the perfect thing to smother all over your body. And flora & farmer jam… uh, well, you could also put it on your body, but it’s pretty fabulous on toast, too!
To order one jar of body butter and one jar of jam gift wrapped in cellophane and tied with an elegant, rustic bow, please send a message indicating your scent and flavour preferences to picklepixxie [at] gmail [dot] com, or place an order using the shopping cart at http://www.justthegoods.net before December 16 at 8:00 p.m. From there, we’ll contact you to arrange pick up either at an upcoming craft show, or one of two locations in West and Central Winnipeg. All orders will be made shortly in advance to ensure optimal freshness.
Rich vegan shea based whipped body butter is available in the following varieties:
- “playful” (clove & vanilla)
- “spicy nights” (sweet orange, cinnamon & ylang ylang)
Juicy, fruity and naturally sweet vegan jam flavours include:
- blueberry anise
- strawberry, beet & vanilla
- cardamom spiced apple maple (no sugar added!)
Each set costs $12.00. Payment can be accepted at the time of pick up, or you may pre-pay with a credit card and/or PayPal account if you choose to order at http://www.justthegoods.net. But remember, pre-ordering is necessary to ensure we can coordinate exactly what you’d like. Substitutions might be possible… if you have something in mind, please let us know.
Give ‘em to some you like, or keep ‘em all for your lovely self, but in either case, please be sure to enjoy!
This is a quick note to let you know that I’ll be out of the lab Nov 12 – 15, 2013. I don’t expect that order processing will be adversely affected by this, but I’m quite sure I won’t have email during this absence and thus will not be able to respond to messages until I return.
Looking forward to connecting before and after =-)
In classic Winnipeg style, the weather has quickly shifted from summer to winter with something sort of like autumn in between, but barely ;-). Trees have shed their leaves, the air is crisp, and its time to start planning for holiday craft shows =-)

Ah, what a pleasure it is to be back in the lab after four weeks. This isn’t to say that I didn’t enjoy my vacation… oh no, it was truly wonderful and I’m thrilled that I had so many fabulous experiences while I was away! But, it is always nice to come home again and, honestly, I missed you =-)
Thank you so very much for the many orders that arrived during my absence. I will definitely have my hands full for the next few days as I begin to make, pack and send pretty much everything on Just the Goods’ handmade vegan skin care menu ;-) In fact, there are even a few custom requests, which is always fun!
I will have some news to share over the coming weeks, but I would love to mention one thing that happened while I was away, which is that Jesica Sayler of Run on Organic reviewed my products on her fabulous blog and really enjoyed them. Yay! Please click here to read her review and to visit her website in more detail: http://runonorganic.com/2013/09/19/just-the-goods-organic-skincare-review/.
So, I think that’s it for now =-) A newsletter with interesting developments at Just the Goods, including a list of upcoming local craft show participation is forthcoming =-)
With all bests,
Ps. The photo above shows the little carry box of Just the Goods products I took with me to the volcanic hot springs bath (onsen 温泉) each night while staying in Osaka, Japan. I already love what my products do for my skin, but after nine nights of resting in mineralized waters… wow… even better! I look forward to researching the benefits of these waters over the coming months to see what I can create to impart similar benefits, but it will be a little while before I can get started. On that note, while in Japan, I also took an opportunity to investigate “natural products” popular in Japan and Korea. If/when I go back, I will engage the services of a translator to help me delve more deeply, but so far it was interesting to learn how incredibly different my approach is. I hope to write a more detailed blog post about this in the coming weeks, so if I have the chance, I’ll be sure to share a few photos =-) Spoiler alert: It is very, very difficult to find genuinely natural skin care products in Japan that no only avoid petrochemicals and other synthetic toxins, but animal derived ingredients, as well! But, on the other hand, there was a vegan food fair in Tokyo this past weekend. I wish I could have attended! It’s exciting to know that plant-based lifestyle possibilities are being explored ever widely =-)
I love this pic shared on Facebook by Rita Lynn, and I’m thrilled to pass it on as my last post until October 13! Four weeks without internets… exciting, and also a wee bit daunting ;-) *tee hee*
If you would like to place an order through my website during my absence, please do knowing that I look forward to handmaking your order October 13 – 15, then mailing it to you as shortly thereafter. If you live in Winnipeg, you’re most welcome to visit Generation Green at The Forks, Sew Dandee, Neechi Niche, Nature Doctors and/or Viva Mondragon!! These fabulous independent shops are stocked and ready to share a wide assortment of Just the Goods handmade vegan skin care products with you =-)
Formalities aside, thank you to EVERYONE who helped me have the most productive, fulfilling, and successful summer of Just the Goods *ever!* Really, truly, honestly and deeply, you’re all so awesome, and I’m so, so very grateful!! *THANK YOU!!!*
See you again in a month! xo! =-)
